The California Small Fitness Facilities Association (CASFFA) Launches new Community Health Micro-Grant

CASFFA COMMUNITY HEALTH MICRO GRANT OVERVIEW

The California Small Fitness Facilities Association (CASFFA) is proud to announce our new micro-grant program! Applications are now open for outstanding fitness, health, and wellness-based small businesses located within the Sacramento and/or Central Valley Area that is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of people living in the communities they serve.

Microgrants in the amount of $2,500 will be awarded to three(3) small businesses that fit the criteria below.

PROGRAM TIMELINE AND DEADLINES

Grant applications are now live ⚡️. The deadline to submit the application is February 28, 2022. Each applicant who receives the grant will be notified via e-mail on March 21st, 2022 via e-mail and program services/reporting must be completed end of May 2022.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply:  

  1. Business must be located in the Greater Sacramento & Central Area. Placer County; including Auburn, and all other cities in Placer County, Sacramento County; including, Elk Grove, as well as all cities within Sutter/Yuba Counties.

  2. Qualified businesses include an Individual/Sole Proprietorship, LLC, Corporation, Nonprofit, or Franchise.

  3. Applicants must demonstrate that: 

    A) They have an established health, wellness, or fitness program that provides a physical, mental, or emotional benefit to their community, and that

    B) They will use the grant funds to provide affordable/reduced rate and/or free health and wellness services to underserved groups and/or underserved communities.  

  4. They will be able to begin these services and use the grant funds by end of May 2022.

  5. Grant recipients must agree to periodically report required information to the CASFFA on the status of their program, its participants, and their use of funds.

❗️Only complete applications that are submitted on or before the deadline will be accepted. Due to the limited availability of grants, all completed applications will be considered on a first come first serve basis, until grant funds run out.

ELIGIBLE USE OF FUNDS

Examples of Eligible Fitness, Health and Wellness Programs. The applicant must demonstrate that they will use funds to provide free or reduced-rate services to one or more of the following groups:

  • Underserved communities.

  • Seniors.

  • Individuals with chronic diseases.

  • Programs that provide prenatal/postnatal services and/or early childhood health services, especially to mothers and families with limited resources.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

As part of accepting the grant from the CASFFA, the applicant must agree to periodic reporting of the program established by CASFFA and included in the application.
