NEW COVID-19 Relief Grants available for Small Fitness Facilities located within the City of Sacramento

CITY OF SACRAMENTO SMALL FITNESS FACILITY COVID-19 RELIEF GRANT OVERVIEW
This year has been one of the most challenging and unprecedented years for the small fitness studio industry. We are excited to announce that the City of Sacramento and the California Small Fitness Facilities Association have partnered to offer micro grants in the amount of $2,500 to help our local small fitness facilities who have been affected by COVID-19. The grant program is funded through the CARES Act, therefore businesses must meet all requirements to be eligible for the program.
PROGRAM TIMELINE AND DEADLINES
Grant applications are now live ⚡️. The deadline to submit the application is midnight on December 18th, 2020. Each applicant who receives the grant, will be notified by e-mail by December 31st.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply:
Business must be physically located within the city limits of the City of Sacramento and show proof of a business license issued by the City of Sacramento.
Business must be in good standing with the City of Sacramento (i.e. no unresolved outstanding code violations).
Business must employ no more than 25 (full and/or part-time) employees per location, not including the owner(s).
Business must have been established prior to January 1st, 2020.
Submit all required application information and documents (see “Required Application and Documents” section listed below).
❗️Only applications submitted before the deadline will be accepted. Due to the limited availability of grants, all completed applications will be considered on first come first serve basis, until grant funds run out.
Attn: Owners with multiple small fitness facility locations: due to limited supply of funds, we are accepting one application per business entity. For example, if one entity has multiple owners, only one grant application per entity should be submitted. If one entity has multiple locations within the city limits, only one application should be submitted. Entity is defined as a LLC, Corporation, Sole Proprietorship, Nonprofit, or Franchise.

ELIGIBLE USE OF FUNDS
Awarded funds are intended to help small fitness businesses affected by COVID-19. The funds may be used retain staff and continue to provide fitness services to the residents in the City of Sacramento. Below are examples of eligible use of funds. This list is not meant to exhaustive:
Rent and utilities
Operational expenses to carry out business activities
Payroll
Business inventory and supplies
Capital or equipment purchases necessary for the business operations
