Some financial relief is available for Sacramento's small fitness studios, which have been significantly affected by restrictions designed to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Fitness studios within Sacramento's city limits, which employ no more than 25 people per location, can apply to receive a $2,500 microgrant. The deadline is midnight on Friday, and application information is available online.

The grants are being offered through a partnership between the city of Sacramento and the California Small Fitness Facilities Association, which recently formed to advocate for small fitness studios. The grants are funded through the federal CARES Act, which allocated money for Covid-19 relief.

Fitness studios that apply for the grants must have been established before Jan. 1, 2020.
